What is a bot
A program run on your computer that automatically places bets on Betfair. These vary in functionality and price depending on what you require.
Why use a bot
For most people being in front of the computer all day is not an option. Betfair prices constantly change so placing all your bets in the morning of the race will mean that the odds matched may differ massively from the starting price. This isnt always a bad thing as you may have matched at a lower price and some bots will monitor the price and try and pick the best time to place the bet, although this is obviously not an exact science as even computer programs cant predict the future.
We use a bot to place bets close to the start of a race so our actual profits are very similar to our reported profits on the website.

It was a bit of hassle to buy the app as they use WorldPay, but to be fair Mark Baker replied to our emails promptly and was very helpful. Once installed it was just a matter of inputing the authorisation code sent by email from Software Defender before we could use it.
The first action is to download the days race information. This is a lot quicker that their previous version. Once you have the race list, entering your selections is very easy, just select the race and then the horse.
The Bot will place your bets for you at a predetermined time before the race starts. It will then only place the bet if the odds are within the range you set and certain conditions are met. You can decide on various staking plans to use such as fixed level stakes, % of bank, fixed liability & % bank liability. You can also choose to recover a loss over the next few races. ie. 25% of the loss over the next 4 races. This is a great feature but just be careful as you can get into trouble if you have a run of consecutive losses.
Other great features include stop loss and stop profit levels. These settings allow the bot to stop when either your stop loss amount is triggered or you reach your profit target for the day.
